WHAT I DO…
-
COMPANY CHIROPRACTING
In essence I go into organisations that are struggling in some way - struggling to be fully who they are.
Its not rocket science, usually three things: They've been pulled off their vision by what feel like commercial imperatives, presumed too much about their customers, or are straining to control their destiny and creating an unhappy atmosphere for staff.
I just try and call their attention away from the coal-face and ask them simple questions - confronting them head on but in a non-confrontational way.
Its what I learned to do over 15 years as a fly-on-the-wqall documentary maker for Channel 4. Flies have a vantage point and time to sit still and see what’s going on.
I love seeing the surge of energy that rises in people when a penny drops. And its most often not my penny but theirs.

AUTHORS WHO CAN'T WRITE
Most people who have something to say haven’t got the time to write it down, or the self-disciple to get it out to an audience.
I’ve found a way to take the grunt work out of this and have helped a few first time authors get the stuff in their head transformed into a transcript without them ever having to write a word themselves.
Sometimes its people who have written something, but it’s ground to a halt and lies unseen in a bottom drawer – plenty of those I can tell you.
We dust them down and get them in front of a micro-audience. Nothing like some early responders to get the juices flowing again.
Most creative processes die through lack of support. I know what that feels like so now I can be that support to others.

RELUCTANT COMMUNICATORS
I used to be so terrified of public speaking I was frightened of getting married ‘cos I knew I’d have to speak at the wedding. Literally.
Now I love to help anyone who needs to get up in front of people either live or on camera.
Its all about helping them discover how they communicate naturally, how they’d be if you weree chatting to them at a barbecue.
I’ve been asked to help some pretty senior people who you’d never think would be nervous of a crowd but I equally love helping anyone who wants to express themself well.
